The site is developed and maintained by Dr. Praveen Nirmalan. Dr. Praveen completed his basic medical training (MBBS) from Government Medical College, Thrissur, India, a Post Graduate Diploma in Ophthalmology from Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai, India, and a Vitreoretinal Fellowship from Aditya Jyoti Eye Hospital, Mumbai. Dr. Praveen completed a Masters in Public Health (MPH) and a Public Health Ophthalmology Fellowship from the prestigious Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, USA. Dr. Praveen worked in prestigious eye care institutes of India including Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai and The International Center for Advancement of Rural Eye Care of the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute at Hyderabad with a focus on Public Health Ophthalmology, and as the Head of Clinical Research at Fernandez Hospital for Mothers and Newborn at Hyderabad, India. Dr. Praveen has published over 65 academic research papers in top tier journals and has trained medical practitioners and students in research methods, epidemiology and biostatistics. Currently, Dr. Praveen focuses on understanding different streams of health care and developing cross disciplinary dialogues to help with the further development and demystification of science, scientific thinking and interpretations that can help communities develop their own solutions.
